DAY OF THE DEAD COMMUNITY ART WORKSHOPS FOR ADULTS
From 1-4 PM on Saturday, Oct 28, Plowhaus artists/ Cost to Participate - $20

An “ofrenda” is a traditional altar, usually built in the home, to honor a departed loved one. We will discuss the traditional elements of a Dia de los Muertos altar (or offering), then create small personal shrines to celebrate the lives of those we have lost. The result will be a unique and personal work of art that engages both tradition and individual expression. Participants are encouraged (though not required) to bring a photograph and other small items that relate to the person they wish to honor. A selection of boxes and all other art materials will be provided. This workshop is designed for adults, but young people over 12 are welcome to participate with a grown friend or parent.

This workshop is limited to 10 participants.  Please email Erika Johnson at bluegreenchair@gmail.com to reserve your space.
